About Therapy

Every person deserves a place where their full story is safe to unfold.

Hi, there. Welcome!

I’m Adrian Conner. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), I’m here to guide your child, teen, or young adult through the labyrinth of trauma, grief, and self-doubt into a place of self-discovery, strength, and healing.

I’ve dedicated my entire career to helping infants through adults– especially those carrying hidden wounds – reclaim their voice, rebuild trust in themselves, and rediscover the strength they didn’t know they had.

My approach is trauma-informed, narrative-focused, and deeply rooted in understanding how the brain and nervous system process and store trauma.

Because trauma isn’t just something that happens in a moment.

It goes on to live in the body, in the nervous system, and in how we react to life.

Through trauma-informed care, I prioritize the safety of the nervous system. We work at a pace that feels right for my clients, ensuring that they’re always in control of their healing journey.

We’ll go beyond talk therapy. Therapy can look different for everyone, and that’s the point.

I combine developmental trauma theory, narrative therapy, and creative expression to help clients of all ages feel safe enough to grow.

We’ll use a variety of techniques, including drawing, metaphor, storytelling, sensory grounding, movement, and more.

These core beliefs will guide our work:

  • Kids don’t need to be perfect to be worthy of help.
  • The nervous system always makes sense once we understand the story.
  • Parents deserve support, not shame.
  • Healing doesn’t happen through force; it happens through safety.
  • Every person is the hero of their own story.

Here’s what therapy looks like…

Younger children…

Play-based, sensory, and attachment-oriented work helps them feel safe enough to process big emotions.

Toddlers don’t need to “talk it out” to heal; they need attunement and play.

Children and younger teens…

Behavioral challenges, anxiety, or meltdowns might be the only way they know to express fear or overwhelm.

Young children and pre-teens don’t need to “behave better”; they need to express what’s unspoken.

The teen years…

The weight of the past can lead to feelings of isolation, perfectionism, or self-doubt that prevent them from fully embracing who they are.

Teenagers need to be “fixed”; they need trust, truth, and a safe witness.

For adults…

Narrative therapy tools and creative expression allow them to rewrite the scripts they’ve internalized from trauma, anxiety, or low self-worth.

You don’t need to have it all together; you need a space to break, build, and become who you truly are.

The family team…

I work closely with caregivers of young children through pre-teens to build deeper understanding, better communication, and stronger emotional connections.

We’ll work together online.

After years of working with families in clinical settings, I’ve seen the magic that happens when therapy is available from the comfort of your home.

Whether it’s a young child feeling safer in their own space or a teen needing privacy to open up, telehealth gives us a unique opportunity to meet clients where they are literally and figuratively.

Here’s why I’m so passionate about online therapy:

There’s no travel stress.

That’s especially helpful for tight schedules or chronic pain.

The environment is safe and relaxed.

It’s easier to open up and be yourself. You are allowed to show up as you are. If your pajamas are comfy, wear them! And you are allowed to eat, drink, or wrap in a blanket if you need.

It’s more flexible.

It can adapt to your rhythms. Forget the hassle of waiting rooms and missed school days.

It’s secure and confidential.

With my HIPAA-compliant video platform, you can be assured that everything remains private.

I have the right tools and creative techniques to help your child open up online. It’s a very engaging and effective virtual space.

It’s not about the setting; it’s about the connection – and that’s where healing happens.

Because healing IS possible.

The next chapter is still unwritten.

It’s not too late.

Therapy isn’t about making kids “easy” or turning teens into “high performers.” It’s about helping young people, at any age, feel powerful in their skin again.

If your child is struggling… or your teen is pulling away… or your young adult is struggling to make sense of it all… I’m here for that journey.

About Adrian Conner, LMFT

A partner in your healing journey.

I prioritize meeting clients in their current emotional and behavioral states, viewing their actions as forms of communication.

My aim is to collaboratively explore the origins of these behaviors, facilitating healing to alleviate underlying pain. My therapeutic practice is adaptable to the unique needs each client presents, taking into account their self-identified experiences, interests, and preferred processing styles.

Together, we navigate their narratives, which may be expressed through various mediums, such as music, art, games, films, or anime. By engaging in the client’s preferred forms of expression, I strive to foster a safe environment conducive to healing. I maintain a nonjudgmental stance, ensuring that everything shared in our sessions is received with understanding and utilized solely to support the therapeutic process.

Judgment and shame do not belong in therapy.

Whatever needs to be said will be heard, understood, and only used to help heal.

I believe processing trauma does not always need to be heavy or tearful. If that happens, it will be welcomed and respected. And if there is more laughter and joking through the process, that is also respected.

I believe that trauma processing does not necessarily have to be a somber experience. While I respect and welcome moments of vulnerability and tears, I also honor the value of laughter and light-heartedness that may arise during our work together. It is essential that you feel free to process in ways that resonate with you without external pressure to conform to specific emotional responses.

My pronouns are She/They, and I am deeply committed to providing a supportive space for the LGBTQ+ community and individuals engaged in polyamorous or consensual kink relationships.

Some of my background…

I have a master’s degree and am licensed in marriage and family therapy (LMFT124030).

I have specialized training in trauma-informed care, Expansion Brainspotting, EMDR, play therapy, development and attachment, narrative therapy, and neurodevelopment. I am a certified Branispotting practitioner.

I’ve worked with infants through adults in various settings, from schools and community programs to private practice.

Long before I became a therapist…

I was the quiet kid with big things happening. Things that I was led to believe was my fault, if I was listened to at all.

I spent my life in pain, and having that pain dismissed as “normal”.

I know what it’s like to grow up feeling “too much” and “not enough” all at once.

I also know what happens when a young person finally feels seen – not fixed… not judged… but truly understood.

That’s why I do this work.

Working with children, teens, and young adults has always been my calling.

I’ve seen firsthand how early intervention and the right therapeutic tools can change the course of someone’s life.

As someone living with a chronic invisible illness, I empathize with the emotional struggles that often accompany physical pain.

My experiences also include caring for a loved one with a terminal illness, which has given me insight into the dynamics of caregiving, relational changes, and the grief process.

I am here to provide support during these challenging experiences.
